The Michigan Small Business &Technology Development Center (SBTDC) has carefully selected business tools to fit the increasingly complex needs of small business. These tools help growing companies to increase business results from retained jobs, job creation, profitability and capital infusion. Below are a few of the tools used by the SBTDC to assist companies launch and grow.

Fiscal Fitness

Assist business owners to understand and utilize financial information to change and grow their enterprise

Strategic Needs Assessment

Assist leaders in assessing their company from an employee perspective by answering a 90 question survey on all areas of their business

Strategic Actioning

Facilitate discussion and decision making within an organization by answering the question, “Where do you want to be 3 years from today?”

Venture Start

A series of business education workshops that assists entrepreneurs in developing their business idea, analyzes market trends, discusses SWOT, walks entrepreneur through writing a business plan.

Venture Forward

Assist owners in rethinking their company and ask experts questions applied to their business to determine the following: overall business strategy, vision for the future, maintain a competitive advantage, and their changing role in managing the business

FastTrac TechVenture

Assists companies to determine market potential and test business concept using the program developed by W.E Kaufman Foundation with assistance from the North Carolina Research Triangle Park

PeerSpectives

Partnership with the Edward Lowe Foundation providing peer-to-peer learning and problem solving opportunities for owners of growing businesses

Accelerating Michigan Entrepreneurs

Provide coaching and online services to assist in developing leadership skills
